Brief CV:

Cedric De Koker (1988) is a full-time PhD researcher at the Department of Criminology, Criminal Law and Social law of the Faculty of Law, Ghent University and a member of the Institute of International Research on Criminal Policy (IRCP) since 2012. He holds a Master of Laws (Ghent University, 2011) and a LL.M in Public International Law (University of Kent, 2012). His doctoral research focuses on the law and practice relating to the protection of civilians during armed conflict in general and to the taking and handling of detainees during peace and related stability operations in specific. Other topics of interest include: the law of international military operations, the relationship and interaction between international humanitarian and human rights law and the enforcement of international humanitarian law through human rights machinery.
